Services Starting at $75
Accepting UHC, Aetna, and BCBS
I am a counseling intern completing my graduate degree in clinical mental health at Grand Canyon University. I provide counseling services for children, student-athletes, their families, and adults.
With degrees in education spanning early childhood through 12th grade, I have been working with students and their families for several decades. My more recent students and their families have been at the early childhood level, where I enjoy working with young children on their foundational social skills, emotional awareness, and self-concept.
I am passionate about building partnerships with parents of children of any age, working to align with developmentally appropriate approaches to understand and foster healthy relational growth with their child. This is accomplished primarily through the integration of Adlerian Play Therapy (APT).
I welcome teens’ challenges with navigating the stressors of this adventurous life stage. I look forward to working with their exceptional intellectual development to collaborate on building healthy coping strategies, ownership, overcoming, and resilience. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) will be the primary counseling approach, and potentially Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
As a former NCAA Division I two-time conference champion and repeat state champion, I have navigated the triumphs and struggles of club, high school, and elite collegiate sports. I aim to assist those working through the intensities of sport dedication, as well as sports career injuries and other perceived setbacks affecting sports performance and the student-athletes’ mental health and well-being. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology Interventions (PPI), and mindfulness training are utilized with student-athletes.
I also enjoy assisting adults seeking deeper understanding, self-awareness, and improving their overall mental health, relationships, and career outcomes. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) will be the primary counseling approaches. For those seeking career counseling, the big five career theories will be personally integrated for each client.
By fostering a welcoming and understanding environment, I seek to facilitate opportunities to build collaborative relationships, client self-advocacy, and ownership. The results empower children and their families to build greater resilience with skills and tools to navigate relationships and the ups and downs of life. Teens explore viewpoints for new perspectives of their personal power to positively shape their future. Student-athletes are presented with opportunities to recognize and improve their mental health, thus building resilience throughout all sport circumstances and outcomes. With genuine curiosity, adults begin to recognize, accept, and move through various predicaments, adding healthier approaches to navigate everyday life.
As a wife, mother, and furbaby mom, I enjoy family time with my husband, three sons, and my dogs. I believe the best place to be is outdoors—there is no bad weather—only poor gear! I embrace daily routines to maintain healthy habits for my overall well-being, including working out, eating healthy, daily meditation, interacting with others, and avidly learning ways to assist those with their journey to overall wellness.
I am looking forward to the potential opportunity to work with you!
