Elizabeth Ricks, LAC

Adult Anxiety and Depression Specialist | Services Starting at $100 Accepting Tricare, UHC, Aetna, and BCBS

Elizabeth is exceptionally kind, warm, and empathetic. She specializes in providing individual therapy to adults with anxiety and depression. Elizabeth is passionate about helping people through hard times. She knows first-hand that therapy can have a positive impact. Elizabeth chose to become a counselor because of the profound role counseling played in her life. Having experienced anxiety, depression, and other challenging life experiences–the help, guidance, encouragement, and support from qualified counselors gave her the tools to move forward in her life. Therapy strengthened her self-confidence and inner peace. She hopes to give that kind of help and support to you as you face life’s struggles.

Elizabeth works primarily with individual adults, both male and female, and incorporates several different modalities, depending on each client’s goals and needs. These include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Elizabeth and her clients work together to achieve client goals in the safe and comfortable environment at Mesa Family Therapy. You can feel assured that your challenges and concerns– whether individual or within your various relationships–will be met with the utmost empathy, sincerity, and compassion.

Elizabeth received a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and her first master’s degree (MA) in Arts Management from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She completed her second master’s degree (MS) in Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ, and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She enjoys continuously sharpening her therapeutic skills through advanced training.
Outside of the therapy room, Elizabeth also enjoys attending Broadway and dance shows, listening to music and going to concerts, traveling to new places, exercising & staying active – both indoors and outdoors, listening to a podcast or audiobook, and serving in her different church callings. She has recently taken up golf after receiving golf clubs from her husband for Christmas!

Dr. Ralph G. Nichols said, “The most basic of all human needs is the need to understand and be understood. The best way to understand people is to listen.” Elizabeth will walk with you, and she will always listen.
