Rian Higginbotham, LAC

Rian Higginbotham, LAC, is a compassionate counselor dedicated to supporting the growth, healing, and self-discovery of children, teens and young adults. Rian earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Grand Canyon University and her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Adams State University. With a heart for helping young people uncover their true selves, she partners with clients to build self-awareness and develop effective strategies for managing emotional and behavioral challenges.

Rian works with children, adolescents, and families navigating a wide range of challenges, including ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), anger management, anxiety, depression, autism, behavioral issues, and emotion regulation. Rian also supports clients dealing with family conflict, identity and belonging concerns, life transitions, relationship difficulties, school-related issues, self-esteem, and stress. Rian’s approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.

Rian’s approach is warm, collaborative, and strength-based. She works closely with children, adolescents, and their families to identify current triggers and harness personal strengths to build resilience for future stressors. She integrates a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and play-focused therapy, tailoring each session to meet developmental and emotional needs of the individuals.

Known for creating a safe and supportive environment, Rian values collaboration not only with clients and their families, but also with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Her goal is to foster emotional growth, resilience, and overall well-being in every young person she supports.

Outside of her work, Rian enjoys reading, hiking, exercising, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
